Mozart Violin - Wednesdays 2:00 - 3:00 rm. 19
Beginning violin for our youngest musicians! Students begin the year on "practice violins" made from egg cartons, and learn the basics of posture and bow movement through fun songs, games, and exercises. Soon they move to their real instruments, and are playing "The Monkey Song" and "Twinkle Rhythm"! Open to all students in grades 1 - 3. Students in grades 4+ may join the class, knowing that it is geared towards younger children. Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay for class. 2nd semester classes are a continuation of 1st semester classes, but are designed so that new incoming students are able to learn skills and songs necessary to join the group. A 45 minute Intro to Violin Workshop is available at no extra charge to all new incoming students. The February workshop is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 15th at 6pm. at our midtown location. Workshop is for parents and students. Returning families are welcome to attend if they would like a refresher course in violin basics. More information on the workshop will be sent out upon registration. Individual tutoring is available for all students. We currently have lesson available on Saturday mornings and Friday afternoons. Please contact ingrid.peters@sacima.org for questions about joining the Mozart class, the new student workshop, or scheduling private tutoring sessions. |
