MusicLIVE Strings - Violin
Genevieve Didion Elementary School
6490 Harmon Dr, Sacramento, CA 95831
Welcome Didion Families! We are so excited to be returning to Didion with our violin program. Enrollment for the 2018/19 school year is now open! We are accepting new students in both the Mozart and Vivaldi Classes - no previous musical experience is necessary! As our program grows, more classes will be offered for advancing students.
PLEASE NOTE - our flier at the Back-to-School night mistakenly said 4th - 6th grades. The Vivaldi class is open to 7th & 8th graders as well! Once we see who is enrolled, we may shift some students around to even out the grades in each class.
Instructor: Ms. Skarli Peña
Classes will be held after school on Wednesdays in Room 19
Space is limited to 18 students in all beginning classes, and enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis.

Mozart Violin - Wednesdays 2:20 - 3:10
Beginning violin for our youngest musicians! Students begin the year on "practice violins" made from egg cartons, and learn the basics of posture and bow movement through fun songs, games, and exercises. Soon they move to their real instruments, and are playing "The Monkey Song" and "Twinkle Rhythm"! Open to all students in grades 1 - 3. Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay for class.
Vivaldi Violin - Wednesdays 3:30 - 4:30
Beginning violin for students in grades 4 - 8. In this class, students will learn the basics of violin playing through folk songs, fiddle tunes and beginning core material. Note-reading will be introduced in the 2nd semester. Continual emphasis on technique and tone production.
