Welcome to MusicLIVE Violin!

We have a new home for our string programs!  We are thrilled to be able to resume our in-person group violin classes inside the Clunie Center in East Sacramento's McKinley Park.  Classes will be held on Thursday afternoons.  Spring Session:  May 12 - June 30.

We are also pleased to announce that private tutoring sessions are now available on Saturdays for $25 per session to all students registered in group classes.  To reserve a spot, please email ingrid.peters@sacima.org.  Online scheduling will be available soon!

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, scholarships are available for all levels.  To apply for a scholarship, please fill out the scholarship application form, or contact ingrid.peters@sacima.org with questions.

Both the Twinkle and Star classes are parent participation classes, and parents need to be present throughout the entire class plus  commit to daily home practice together with their child.  Parents do not have to have any musical knowledge or need their own instruments!  These classes are all about having fun with the violin while learning proper form & skills. Singing, rhythm games, and simple songs build skills and confidence!
The  Twinkle Class - an 8 week introduction to violin for our littlest musicians! This is a full parent participation class and is open to children ages 3-5.  This class uses home-made practice violins and bows. Students have fun repeating this class until they are ready to move to real violins in the Star class.  Thursdays 10:30 - 11:15   May 12 - June 30  Tuition $120
The  Star Class  - an 8-week continuation of the Twinkle class for students ages 3-5, also open to first time students with previous musical experience or by teacher approval.  It's time for real violins!  Students will need to have their own violins for this class. (See Instruments & Accessories)

Thursdays 11:30 - 12:15,  April 14 - June 2.   Tuition $120
The Mozart Class   - a new beginning class for grades 1-3.    (8 weeks)  No experience is needed for this fun class! Students start the session on real violins (as opposed to practice violins like the Twinkle Class) and learn note reading from the very start.  We play fun songs while learning basic skills necessary for beautiful playing.  Parents are required to stay for class and participate in home practice. Videos are available to help practice correctly.  Students will need their own instrument, a music stand and a 3 ring binder for this class.  Thursdays 2:30 - 3:20.  May 12 - June 30.    Tuition $160
Back to Basics with Fiddle Tunes - This is a multi-level "Re-introduction Class" to violin for students that have been away from their violin throughout the pandemic and are ready to come back, or any student who would like a refresher on the basics in a fun group environment. This class will focus on posture & positions, tone production, beginning note reading, and fun fiddle tunes!  We will be using the book "Fiddle & Song" for this class, and students need to purchase their own copy before the first class. (Link in classroom).  Thursdays 3:30 - 4:20, May 12- June 30  Tuition $160
String Ensemble - A multi-level class that includes posture & positions, note reading & theory, ensemble pieces (We're playing EPIC and DRAGON HUNTER this session!) plus lots of fun fiddle tunes.  We will be using the book "Fiddle & Song" for this class, and students need to purchase their own copy before the first class.
